About
I am a US-trained and qualified attorney with nearly 20 years of experience in international arbitration and dispute resolution. My practice spans a diverse range of sectors and industries, including energy, construction, industrial engineering, life sciences, automotive, aviation, and technology. I also have significant experience in corporate matters, handling post-M&A, shareholder, and joint venture disputes.
My career began at Freshfields, where I successfully represented a European energy company in groundbreaking arbitrations. Notable cases include a market-leading price review that led to the rewriting of a purchase price formula to include hub indexation in a long-term natural gas supply contract (novel at the time), as well as a contentious take-or-pay dispute involving the legality of certain provisions under EU competition law. I also acted as secretary to the sole arbitrator in the first case where the Swiss Federal Supreme Court held that English-language awards need not be translated in order to be enforced.
In more recent years, I have represented contractors in arbitrations related to the construction of LNG re-gasification plants, data centers and blast furnaces, and advised on post-M&A disputes in the energy and engineering sectors. I have also acted on joint venture disputes regarding company management and accounting, and provided counsel on issues related to Russian sanctions and counter-sanctions.
In addition to my legal experience, my diverse background complements my practice. Having attended high school on three continents and university on two, I bring a global perspective to my work. I am fluent in English and German, with some knowledge of Italian.
